Apply to be a pattern tester!

If you like crocheting and free patterns, this is the job just for you!

*What is a pattern tester?

I would say that you are a very important part of a perfect and well put crochet pattern! I can sure spend days on designing and writing a pattern and do various sizes, but it is with help of all of you that I can make sure those sizes will fit right and the pattern is actually error-free.

*What are the expectations as a designer?

As a designer I would expect you to read the pattern thoroughly first and make sure you understand what you’re asked to do. Then, if there is anything that doesn’t feel or look right, it might just be the pattern mistake which you should report so I can correct it.

I expect you to be completely honest, I might say brutally honest (I can take it :’D) and let me know your sincere opinion on the pattern. I’m sure there will be some mistakes and with your help I know I can always make the it better.

Communication as a most important part in my tester groups. If there are mistakes, if you are having issues with the pattern, with the time management, yarn order late, you don’t feel the pattern nor working on it any more, life happening and you can’t complete the test, all you have to do is LET ME KNOW!

*What are the requirements?

-You’ll provide your own materials

-You’ll follow the pattern, without exception, unless marked otherwise

-Take well lit and aesthetically pleasing photos and videos.

-Help promote pattern on the release day

-Finish the project within the required period (if you are not able to meet the deadline let me know!!)

-Have an open Instagram account

*What are the benefits?

As a pattern tester you get to have an exclusive insight in the patterns that haven’t been released yet. In test groups you get to meet people all over the world with same interest and love for crochet. Test groups are amazing place for learning new things and sharing experiences, for the testers as well as designers. Your account will be mentioned on all of my social platforms when I release the pattern and your work seen by thousands of people. After the pattern is finalised I’ll send you the final draft of the pattern as a thank you for your hard work. And finally, after every 3 completed tests that you do for me, you can choose one of my designs, for free!

As a tester you will have 20% discount for any of the patterns you might want to purchase.

*What are the expectations as a tester?

Few days after you apply, if you’ve been chosen, you’ll receive an email asking you to confirm your participation.

After that I will send you a first part of the pattern with all the info to get you all set up to start and make a gauge swatch first.

You will then be added in an Instagram group chat with all the other testers, one place where all of us can comunicate. Also here you’ll be sending your update photos (if you don’t wish otherwise).

After you make a swatch, (you will have 7 days to do that, unless you have issues with your order or any other issues you are required to communicate, your spot will be given to another tester), you will send your swatch to me in order to recieve the next part of the pattern for the size you are testing. So every time you finish with one part and you send an update photos, you will get the next one.

After you’ve finished with your piece you will receive a feedback form which you have to fill out.

Take a well lit modelled photos, flat lay photos and a short video wearing the piece and send it to me via email, We Transfer, G-Drive, Google photos etc. whatever works best for you. These photos are very important, because there are a way for me to show this pieces worn by people in different sizes. This is the reason I require open Instagram accounts when applying, this and obviously a way for me to see your work and choosing you over someone else.

After you’ve done all the required steps you will get a final draft of the pattern and after you’ve completed 3 pattern tests for me, you’ll get 1 pattern of your choice for free (if you choose a pattern from my Summer Lace Collection, you will be able to pick out one size you want the pattern in).
